Ananda Rasa (the bliss of Divine rapture, the nectar of bliss) kirtan (call and response devotional chanting of Bhakti Yoga) is led by vocalist and multi-instrumentalist David Estes who is currently based in the San Francisco Bay Area. David grew up in India, has studied music since childhood and spent several years completely immersed in the practices of kirtan, Sanskrit text chanting, meditation and seva as a resident in daily ashram life. Ananda Rasa kirtan is rooted in traditional Sanskrit chants sung to original raga melodies with explores the mystical and ecstatic depths of kirtan in call and response chanting with the audience. Additional musical influences include Sufi Qawwali and Roots Reggae. In 2013 the album Mulani - dub Kirtan was released which combined traditional style kirtan in Indian raga with roots reggae rhythms featuring guest kirtan vocalists and mixed by Michael Goldwasser of Easy Star Records (Dub Side of the Moon, Sgt Peppter Lonely Hearts dub Band and many more).

In addition to leading his kirtan band, David Estes also has his own brand of harmoniums, Ragamala, which he has designed and has hand built by skilled craftsmen in India. After many years of tuning, restoring and repairing harmoniums, David started his own company specializing in premium high quality harmoniums with great tone, solid craftsmanship, simple design and easy portability for travel. David's partner, devotional artist and author Jennifer Mazzucco travels with him and the band a will have her artwork and Sri Hanuman Chalisa books available for purchase at the event.
Jennifer Mazzucco is a devotional artist who deeply respects and is inspired by the cultural arts of India and Tibet. She currently lives in Northern CA where she has transformed a former kindergarten classroom into a home/studio/bhakti center called PRASADA. It is a space where community gathers for art experiences, kirtan and meditation. Her latest self published project is a Sri Hanuman Chalisa Book that helps bhaktas learn how to sing the chant using images, Devanagari script, Transliteration and English Translation that doubles as a coloring book for interactive use. Jacob Duran and his partner Amanda Hamilton will be opening the event with a kirtan set. Santa Barbara local Jacob Duran is a highly talented and versatile mantra musician, multi-instrumentalist, and live electronic artist. While he has been leading traditional kirtan for almost 20 years, he also weaves this mantra experience with Indian classical, sound healing, and live looped, improvised ambient dub and down-tempo world music to create an entirely new and unprecedented chanting experience. His offering is highly creative and improvised, so it is always a unique experience. He is currently living his passion, as a career-artist, bringing sacred music to yoga classes, retreats, and festivals.
